Partnership Board
The Charnwood Together Board was formed in January 2002 , with the aim of improving public services and promoting the economic, social and environmental well-being of the Borough.
The formation of the Charnwood Strategic Partnership (LSP) in 2002 and the production of the first Charnwood Community Strategy in 2003 was a new experience for the range of public, private and voluntary agencies represented on the LSP. The aim from the beginning was to add value by seeking to join up the actions of the individual partnerships/ agencies in order to secure an improved quality of life for everyone living and working in the Borough.
In 2005 a second Charnwood Community Strategy was created. This Strategy focused on the future, and it outlined a common vision of what that future can look like for Charnwood. It was linked with the first Local Area Agreement a document which sets out the priorities of areas and looks at funding opportunities. It also focuses on partners organising their budgets and resources to tackle proiorities in the strategy in a co-ordinated and direct way.
In 2007 we embarked on a futher review to create a new "Sustainable Community Strategy". This again seeks to further the economic, social and environmental well-being of the Borough while picking up the "Place Shaping" agenda through clear focus on the needs of particular places in the Borough. The strategy sets out the vision, themes and priority places that we will focus on in the period upto 2012/14.
