Convene a multi-agency team to co-ordinate renewal activity and response to opportunities in Eastern Loughborough, taking a holistic, long term view of the area. This will integrate with the emerging Master Plan for Loughborough Town Centre, the Loughborough Inner Relief Road and the opportunities arising from the Eastern Gateway Scheme, all of which are key regeneration projects supported by Charnwood Together.

It would also connect with projects focusing on personal and community needs such as the Loughborough Sure Start East. The team would be tasked with considering personal needs of residents as well as improvements to the living environment and provision of employment.

Particular attention will be given to those areas of deprivation, high unemployment and relatively lower car ownership (where historically access to work was by foot). Safeguarding some areas for the creation of employment and green space development, which would otherwise be under pressure for further brownfield residential development is likely to be an issue.

The team will be mindful of the land use planning context being set by the Local Development Framework.
