Project Details

Let's Go UK from Longslade Community College, in Birstall, won four of the Young Enterprise awards for Leicestershire this year.

The company, led by Mitul Gadhia, ran an advertising, design, print and distribution service as well as organising an art exhibition.

It took best company, best managing director, best corporate governance and best company report.

The team was supported by Longslade's link teacher Steve Brown and Stef Cohen, from HSBC bank.

More than 450 business people, civic leaders and students watched the six finalists receive their awards.

The evening was hosted by Leicestershire's YE president, Rosemary Conley, and motivational speaker, Nicky Pattinson, gave the keynote address.

More than 50 county companies were set up during the year, mainly by year 12 students, with the help of advisers from the business community.

After preparing a company report and presentation, they were subject to a Dragons' Den-style interview.
