A wide range of organisations are represented because we recognise that people's health and well being are affected by many things, notably their social, environmental and economic circumstances. Some differences in health are unavoidable but many are not and are due to lifestyles, life chances and deprivation. The root causes of these health inequalities are found in the wider structure of our society, beyond the reach of the NHS. So health and well being and health inequalities must be tackled by a range of organisations, working in partnership, which is what the Forum does.
