It was formed in January 2002 and brings together the local authorities (elected members and officers), public service providers and statutory agencies, businesses, voluntary organisations and the local community, with the aim of improving public services and promoting the economic, social and environmental well-being of the Borough.
To improve the quality of life for everyone living and working in Charnwood.
The Partnership is led by a Board of representatives from local agencies and organisations with a Forum whose role is to hold the Board accountable for implementation of the strategy and its regular review. The Forum is open to all groups and organisations in the Borough.
Following comprehensive consultation The Community Strategy was published in September 2003 and has since been reviewed in December 2005.
The partnership was initiated by Charnwood Borough Council following Government guidance and encouragement that all local authorities should consider a Local Community Strategy.
